1. Sanyo KR5000DEL D Cell pdf (Best "AVAILABLE" battery cell, Manufacturers Green "Sanyo" Shrink Sleeve.  This "high capacity" Sanyo cell is Press Negative or Pasted Cell technology, Industry Standard Cell for Anton Bauer (72WH/75WH Packs) , 1.25V, 5.0AH @ C/1, charge discharge cycles 500-700, less heat tolerance. 

2. Sanyo N4000DRL 4000mAH Fast Charge D Cell pdf Manufacturers Red "Sanyo"  Shrink Sleeve.  Sintered Positive Electrode Rapid charge technology, (Industry Standard Cell for 60WH/65WH Packs) Comparable to Panasonic P500DR but with 1.5AH or 17WH less capacity than the Panasonic P500DR.  $$$$$  Excellent Quality.  We will build with this cell at Your request. 

3. Panasonic dropped their large size nickel cadmium battery cells on or around March 2005.

4. Saft VRE D-5500 Fast Charge D Cell Model #: 417-990-101 (Sintered Positive Electrode Technology, Even with annual blanket orders we have suffered pushed back delivery 39 out of 88 weeks ending in May 2007.  We dropped the line in June 2007 so as for practical purposes they are no longer available. )  1.25V, 5.5AH @ C/1, 82WH, 900-1200 charge-discharge cycles, low internal resistance, best heat acceptance, and durability).  $$$$$  Excellent Quality.  Our Choice. (Specification sheet is more conservative)

5. Sanyo N4000DL Not Rapid charge. (Discontinued.  Manufacturers Yellow "Sanyo" Shrink Sleeve.  Promoted by most rebuilders as the N4000DRL.  It is Not.) Better charge discharge cycles, heat acceptance, durability, and less capacity than the  KR5000DEL.  Others focus you on "Sanyo".  $$  Not Our Choice.

6. Saft VE5D 5000mAH D Cell (Discontinued.  Promoted by some rebuilders as a 5.5AH pack.  It is Not.)  $$ Not Our Choice.

7. Sanyo KR4400DEL D Cell (Manufacturers Yellow "Sanyo" Shrink Sleeve.  Some rebuilders use this cell and will never want to discuss cell specifications.  They focus you on "Sanyo".  This cell Not recommended for ENG Packs.)

8. No Chinese, Third World, LG, Toshiba, Energizer Consumer Grade Cells are used in our Premium battery inserts!  When your livelihood depends on your batteries don't settle for second best.

FAQ's  Important FAQ's!

1. Keeping up with the Jones's:

   1. Most engineering specification sheets spec Ni-Cd and Ni-MH battery cells at 1.25V per cell.

   2. Thus, 1.25V * 12 Panasonic P500DR D cells = 15.0V * 5.5AH = 82.5WH, with +/- 900-1200 full charge-discharge cycles.

   3.   Engineering Spec examples verses marketing:

      1. A 14.4V 65WH battery is: 1.25V x 12 cells = 15.0V x 4.0AH = 65WH

      2. This is the same battery as: 1.2V x 12 cells = 14.4V x 4.0AH = 60WH

      3. A 14.4V 75WH battery is: 1.25V x 12 cells = 15.0V x 5.0AH = 75WH

      4. This is the same battery as: 1.2V x 12 cells = 14.4V x 5.0AH = 72W

   4. We did not create this confusion.  But we give our best effort to keep you in the circle with up to date and accurate information, formulas and tools for your decision making process.

       

2. We Do NOT use third world / Chinese "factory new", "brand name" low end "economical - high capacity" cells or LG, Toshiba, Energizer Consumer Grade battery cells in our premium packages.  Only in "Economy "Sack & Save" equivalents to gimmick competitors.  These cells have a very degrading discharge curve, less charge discharge cycles, leak, and the leaking damages your circuitry. So, you can get a great price and really get what you paid for!

3. We buy direct from Enersys, Moli, Panasonic, and Sanyo.

4. We turn our inventory on an average of every four weeks.

5. All battery packs and inserts are built to order in our Tennessee facility by Highly trained technicians with several quality control measures.

6. We use ONLY Enersys Hawker for dry cell lead acid, Panasonic and Sanyo for lithium ion, and Sanyo for Nickel Cadmium. 

   1. For Nickel Cadmium battery packs we use the very best nickel cadmium sintered positive electrode rapid charge battery cells when they are available from Sanyo.

      1. Otherwise we use Sanyo's very best Press Negative nickel cadmium battery cells available.

   2. Panasonic dropped manufacture of large nickel cadmium battery cells in mid 2005.

   3. Rumor has it that Panasonic may also be moving their manufacturing facilities back to Japan and the US.

7. The Best Sealed Digital, Sealed Logic, or Screw Together Brick Rebuild Value: 14.4V 5.5AH 82WH!  See battery cell specifications below for more cell detail. 

8. Harding Energy NE-D5000 failed our test to an extreme.

9. UniRoss:  From April 07 until August 07 still has not been able to deliver 12 battery cells for testing.

Terminology Notes:

1. Sintered on Sinter: Sintered Positive Electrode, (Best):  US and Japanese term for industry type manufacturing technique.
2. Heavily Porous: US and Japanese term for Panasonic manufacturing technique.  Panasonic dropped all their large nickel cadmium cells on or around March 2005.
3. Press Negative: US term for manufacturing technique.
4. Pasted Negative: Japanese term for manufacturing technique.
5. If you see the wording Heavily porous and Sanyo in the same sentence chances are you are reading marketing spin from someone telling you whatever they think you want to hear to close a sale..
6. If you see bare cells in generic PVC sleeves or fiber tubes the chances are very high that you are probably Not getting what you were told.
