System:
Four independent stations for simultaneous service of four
batteries; accommodates nickel cadmium (NiCd), nickel metal
hydride (NiMH), sealed lead acid (SLA) and lithium ion
(Li-ion); batteries are tested against preset parameters;
short and reverse polarity protected; multiple redundant
full-charge detection.
Battery Adapters:
Configured Cups for battery specific applications and
universal Smart Cables for irregular batteries. Pre-programmed
with up to ten C-Codes to service all batteries within a
footprint configuration. The adapters are interchangeable and
re-programmable while other batteries are being serviced.
Power Supply and Drivers:
Digitally controlled switch mode drivers; 2 amperes maximum
charge and discharge current per station; C-rate is
automatically adjusted to remain within the current limit when
a battery rating higher than 2 amperes is entered; intelligent
overload protection.
Programming of Battery Adapters:
The C-Codes are entered through the C7000ER’s menu-driven user
interface:
Basic C-Code sets battery chemistry, voltage and battery
rating.
Extended C-Code governs charge & discharge C-rates, trickle
charge, recondition current, capacity offset, temperature
sensing, full-charge detection, discharge voltage threshold
and charge methods.
Security System:
Three-tier password protection system safeguards
against tampering.

Program Selection:
|
Prime mode applies repetitive discharge cycles
until peak capacity is reached; conditions new batteries for
field use; program duration is 4-8 hours.
Charge mode provides convenient fast-charge
function. Typical charge time 85 min.
Auto mode exercises batteries and reconditions
those unable to reach the user-defined target capacity; program
duration 3-5 hours, up to 12 hours if recondition cycle
required.
Standby mode automatically exercises batteries
every 30 days (180 days for SLA). Keeps batteries at operational
readiness without adverse side effects.
Custom mode enables programming for any
desired sequence of charge, discharge, recondition and trickle
charge; performs long-term battery reliability tests, measures
self-discharge and services batteries with special needs.
Target setting sets “pass/fail” criteria. If
the target capacity is met, the battery is exercised—if below
target, recondition 4 is applied.
Throughput per Unit:
Based on recommended monthly maintenance schedule of two batches
per day (20 days per month), each C7000ER processes four
batteries every 4-8 hours; maintains a fleet of up to 160
batteries.
Display:
80 character back-lit LCD
Global: Displays status of all batteries
simultaneously; battery voltages and current are shown
alternatively.
Detailed: Reveals test results of each
battery; spells out fault codes for example, mismatched cells,
incorrect voltage, "soft" cells. Test results are displayed in
percentage of the nominal battery rating.
Standard Features:
RS-232 port standard; connects to serial printer to generate
service reports and battery labels; interfaces to computer
through BatteryShop software (sold separately).
Parallel printer output and battery backup RAM to retain test
data on power failure, resumes program when power is restored;
includes internal date and time, EMI immunity for noisy
environments.
Optional Features:
Bar code reader; reads battery ID number for battery
identification; reads C-Code to configure Battery Adapters.
